Program Summary:  Learn what mindful leaders look like and why we should want to be mindful leaders in today's competitive and chaotic business climate. We will dive into the principles of mindfulness that apply to anyone trying to be more mindful and how they especially apply to those leading teams and organizations.

Objectives:

  • Define mindful leadership.
  • Identify the components of leadership excellence.
  • Explain the six traits of mindful leadership.

Speaker Bio: David B. McLaughlin, M.Ed, SHRM-SCP, is the founder of Pendulum Coaching and brings a wealth of unique experience, insight and energy to solving problems and helping employers and employees work better together. He has over twenty years experience coaching and consulting. He has been committed to mindfulness and meditation for over ten years.

He has a M. Ed in Adult Education and B.S. in Accounting from the University of Central Oklahoma. He is also currently a Ph. D student at Kansas State University.

David served at a large insurance company in Oklahoma City for 18 years where he was an executive in charge of Learning and Development. He has also served on the boards of the Oklahoma City Human Resources Society and Central Oklahoma Chapter of the Association of Talent Development as well as many other business and community organizations. David is also a former tax accountant and a frequent event speaker.

Meeting Details: This meeting will take place at Cameron University in the McCasland Building 2nd floor ballroom (2800 W. Gore Blvd. Lawton, OK 73505).


Cost: Free for SWOKHR members, $10 for non-members.


This program has been approved for SHRM and HRCI recertification credit.
