"Applying Disney's 7 Keys to Success for the HR Professional"
Overview: "What does Disney success have to do with my company?" Tom Connellan in his book "Inside the Magic Kingdom" calls us to recognize that anyone that does superior service or presents a superior product is competition to you. In this session, participants will discover some of the Disney keys of success and apply the ideas to their company, service and product.
- Overall, discuss the value of culture in the success and sustainability of the participant’s business
- Discuss the principles that drive the culture and success of Disney
- Apply principles to their particular company
- Discuss who the real competition is in the participant’s business and how that competition affects employee behavior
- Discuss how to get all employee to understand their role in the culture and how each individual is integral to the team and the culture of the company
Presenter - Carolyn Shockey
With over 30 years of experience in the field of human resources management in healthcare, Carolyn Shockey has held senior human resources leadership positions directing the culture development, customer service and employee relations strategies. She has lead a number of senior leadership in strategic planning for their companies. She was a leadership faculty member with the Hospital Corporation of America (HCA) leadership program presenting leadership and management workshops to HCA-managed and owned facilities throughout the United States. Carolyn has achieved the Senior Professional in Human Resources Certification (SPHR) and SHRM-SCP. Carolyn has a Masters of Arts degree in Speech Communication from the University of Oklahoma. She has spoken at several national conferences and has also published several articles in national publications. She has been involved recently in teaching Human Resources at Mid-America Christian University and Southern Nazarene University. Carolyn is highly involved in her personal consulting business specifically job coaching with various companies and industries concerning communication, culture and customer service.
This program has been approved for 1 hour recertification credit hours toward SHRM for Professional Development credits (PDCs) and by the HR Certification Institute for recertification credits. Please visit their respective websites at hrci.org or shrmcertification.org.
